Ford Escape: Exterior Lighting / Removal and Installation - Reversing Lamp
Removal

NOTE:

Remove the liftgate trim panel.
Refer to: Liftgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
Reversing Lamp Assembly

Disconnect the reversing lamp electrical connector.

Remove the reversing lamp nuts.
Torque:
28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)

Gently pull the reversing lamp away from the
vehicle releasing the pin retainer. Remove the reversing lamp assembly.
Reversing Lamp Bulb
-
Remove and position the reversing lamp bulb socket from the reversing lamp assembly.

Remove the reversing lamp bulb.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
Left hand rear lamp assembly shown, right hand rear lamp assembly similar.
Turn signal bulb
Remove the rear lamp assembly...

Disconnect the stoplamp switch electrical connector.
NOTICE:
Do not press, pull or otherwise move the brake pedal
while installing the stoplamp switch and cruise control deactivation
switch...

Bring the engine to normal operating temperature. Connect
the Vacuum/Pressure Tester to the intake manifold. Run the engine at the
specified idle speed.
The vacuum gauge should read between 51-74 kPa (15-22 in-Hg)
depending upon the engine condition and the altitude at which the test
is conducted...
