Overview
The PATS deters the vehicle from theft by preventing the vehicle
from starting unless a programmed PATS key is in the ignition lock
cylinder.
PATS does not disable a vehicle that is already running.

WARNING:
To prevent the risk of high-voltage shock, always follow

Removal
NOTE:
When the battery is disconnected and connected, some
abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its
adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven to allow the PCM to
relearn the adaptive strategy values.

The battery monitoring sensor and the negative battery cable are serviced as an assembly.
