Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
NOTE:
The original equipment antenna cables are part of the wiring
harnesses and cannot be removed. This procedure refers to replacement
of the cable only by overlaying the cable.
Instrument panel harness antenna cables
-
Remove the floor console.
Refer to: Floor Console (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).

Remove the instrument panel center register.
Refer to: Center Registers (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, Removal and Installation).
-
Release the clips and remove the climate controls lower trim panel.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
-
Remove the screws.
Torque:
22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
-
Position aside the LH front door weatherstrip.
-
Release the clip and remove the center A-pillar trim panel.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
-
Release the clips and remove the LH instrument panel finish panel.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Release the clips, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the LH steering column opening trim panel.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
-
Remove the screws.
Torque:
22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
-
Release the clips, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the RH steering column opening trim panel.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Body harness antenna cables
-
Remove the front door scuff plates.
Refer to: Front Scuff Plate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

Remove the front seats.
Refer to: Front Seat (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).
-
Remove the floor console.
Refer to: Floor Console (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
-
Remove the loadspace trim panels.
Refer to: Loadspace Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

Remove the seatbelt buckles.
Refer to: Front Seatbelt Buckle (501-20A Seatbelt Systems, Removal and Installation).

Lower the headliner.
Refer to: Headliner - Lowering (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
-
Position the floor carpet for access.
-
Disconnect the front body harness coaxial cable connector.
-
Disconnect the AM / FM antenna cable connector.
-
Disconnect the FM 2 antenna cable connector.
AM/FM liftgate antenna cable
-
Lower the headliner.
Refer to: Headliner - Lowering (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
-
Release the clips, the trim anchors and remove the center upper liftgate interior trim panel.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
-
Disconnect the AM / FM liftgate harness connectors.
FM2 liftgate antenna cable
-
Lower the headliner.
Refer to: Headliner - Lowering (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
-
Release the clips, the trim anchors and remove the center upper liftgate interior trim panel.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
-
Disconnect the FM 2 liftgate harness connectors.
Installation
Instrument panel harness antenna cables
-
Cut the instrument panel antenna harness coaxial cable connectors off from the instrument panel harness.
-
Cut the instrument panel antenna harness coaxial cable connector off from the instrument panel harness.
-
Install the new coaxial cable.
-
Route the new instrument panel harness antenna cable following the routing shown.
-
Secure the new instrument panel harness antenna cable, as necessary, to prevent NVH concerns.
Body harness antenna cables
-
Cut the front body harness coaxial cable connector from the body harness.
-
NOTICE:
Use care to prevent damage to the wiring harness.
Cut the end off the AM / FM antenna upper coaxial cable.
-
Release the retaining tabs.
-
Remove the coaxial cable end from the connector shell.
-
NOTICE:
Use care to prevent damage to the wiring harness.
Cut the end off the FM 2 antenna upper coaxial cable.
-
Release the retaining tabs.
-
Remove the coaxial cable end from the connector shell.
-
Install the new coaxial cable.
-
Route the new body harness antenna cable following the routing shown.
-
Secure the new body harness antenna cable, as necessary, to prevent NVH concerns.

Install the cable end into the AM / FM antenna connector.
-
Install the cable end into the FM 2 antenna connector.
AM/FM liftgate antenna cable

NOTICE:
Use care to prevent damage to the wiring harness.
Cut the end off the AM / FM antenna liftgate coaxial cable.
-
Release the retaining tabs.
-
Remove the coaxial cable end from the connector shell.
-
Cut the end off the AM / FM antenna liftgate coaxial cable.
-
Install the new AM / FM antenna coaxial cable.
-
Route the new AM / FM antenna cable following the routing shown.
-
Secure the new AM / FM antenna cable, as necessary, to prevent NVH concerns.
-
Connect the AM / FM liftgate harness connectors.
FM2 liftgate antenna cable
-
NOTICE:
Use care to prevent damage to the wiring harness.
Cut the end off the FM 2 antenna liftgate coaxial cable.
-
Release the retaining tabs.
-
Remove the coaxial cable end from the connector shell.
-
Cut the end off the FM 2 antenna liftgate coaxial cable.
-
Install the new FM 2 antenna coaxial cable.
-
Route the new FM 2 antenna cable following the routing shown.
-
Secure the new FM 2 antenna cable, as necessary, to prevent NVH concerns.

Connect the FM 2 liftgate harness connectors.
